The Itinerary
Your grand adventure begins with a drive into the lower Himalayas. Relax and acclimatize in the cool pine forests of Narkanda or Shimla.
Descend to the Satluj riverbank and enter the gateway of Kinnaur. Arrive in the scenic Sangla Valley, surrounded by towering mountains and apple orchards.
Spend a slow, immersive day exploring Chitkul, the last Indian village before the Tibet border. Enjoy the pristine Baspa river and local Kinnauri culture.
Drive to Kalpa for the most spectacular views of the Kinner Kailash range. Visit the suicide point and ancient Narayan-Nagini temple.
Cross into the Spiti region. Stop at the picturesque Nako Lake and village before arriving in Tabo, home to the oldest operating Buddhist enclave in the Himalayas.
Visit the incredible Dhankar Monastery, which hangs precariously on a cliff edge. Take an optional short trek to Dhankar Lake before reaching Kaza.
Visit the iconic Key Monastery, spot wildlife in the high village of Kibber, and cross the breathtaking Chicham Bridge—Asia's highest suspension bridge.
Explore the "Fossil Village" of Langza guarded by a giant Buddha statue, send letters from Hikkim's post office, and visit Komic, the world's highest motorable village.
Drive over the majestic Kunzum Pass to the hidden jewel of Spiti, Chandratal. Enjoy an evening walking around the lake and camp under a brilliant night sky.
Say goodbye to the barren landscapes as you cross into the lush, green Kullu Valley via the Atal Tunnel. Spend a relaxing evening in Manali.
